A NEW PHASE BEGINS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SPORTS HALL. ROOF TRUSSES AND THE ROOF ITSELF ARE NEXT

Construction of the new sports arena in Turnov II is proceeding at a rapid pace, and progress on the construction site is visible literally every day. Intensive work is underway on both the reinforced concrete structure and the future facilities within the arena. Inside the building, concrete is being poured for the floors, the interior walls are being finished, and windows will soon begin to be installed in the adjoining sections. A major milestone will be the installation of the roof trusses. This will be followed by the gradual roofing of the playing area and the installation of the exterior cladding. At the same time, work will begin on the utility systems—preparing openings and channels for electrical wiring and other trades.

Construction activity is also continuing behind the arena, where utility lines are being rerouted. For this reason, Alešova Street is closed not only to motor vehicles but also to pedestrians. The sidewalk along the arena is completely inaccessible due to excavation work, and the construction site is fenced off. To bypass this area, we recommend using Nádražní Street. In addition, access from 1. máje Street will be temporarily complicated by the reconstruction of Šlikova Street, where a new asphalt surface will be laid and street lighting will be installed.

In connection with the replacement of a transformer station planned by ČEZ, there will be a scheduled power outage throughout Alešova Street on August 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. “A temporary substation will be delivered at the end of July, and ČEZ will begin preparatory work. The actual connection of the hall to this substation will take place on August 3,” explained Pavel Mikeš, investment engineer at Městská sportovní Turnov.

In addition to the construction itself, work is also continuing on finalizing technical details and testing the materials that will be used in the new sports hall.

The contractor for the project is SYNER – MARHOLD. The total construction cost is approximately 220 million CZK, excluding VAT, and the new sports hall is scheduled for completion in April 2027.
